Yu-Gi-Oh!: Bonds Beyond Time movie based on the main characters first 3 series, celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters. English version is 10 minute longer.

The plot: Guy from the post-apocalyptic Earth goes back in time. He encounters our three main characters, begs them to help him to destroy he Duel monsters, as they will eventually destroy the world, they refuse, they defeat him in a duel, and doom the Earth forever.

Edit: the hype is over, now we have stable encoding and decoding software, all that is left is for graphic card makers to show support for 10bit… and that may take a while…

But, if you are still curious how to play such devious files with maximum quality in mind, try this tutorial for the madvr+ mpc-hc combination or even this superior wall of text tutorial for the madvr + PotPlayer in order to squeeze out every last possible bit of CPU utilisation. And then there is that official tutorial by CoalGirls.

Now, aside from that troll comparison above, 10 bit encoding really improves video quality (brings it closer to the original, not beyond that lol) by having smoother gradients (more variations of the same color). I’ve tried out crf17 encode 10bit vs 8 bit and this came out

Now , you can argue about the level of details here and there, but the shades of black on his chest are a lot better in 10bit , no doubt there.

Somebody pointed out that this post needed more text.

Art is good;
Intro and outro themes are very good, also, intro can be used for h264 player benchmarks. Lol.
But there is that part where this anime sucks balls: the plot.

Fractale is basically a computer sistem that regulates and automates human life on earth in distant future thus making it some kind of utopia. For its core, a single girl was choosen, she is to be a key to restore the system if it ever started to fall apart. Now, there is a catch: the girl was molested. Many centuries later, Fractale falls apart, and the administration continuously tries to revive “god” by cloning her physical body and merging it with the digital imprint of her soul. In the end of the show – they succeed, as one of the “fathers” had her molested. Finally, the system is restored and after one year it will forever brake apart, and we have one last scene – the lame half-assed kid (the protagonist, by the way) kept the comatose body of the newborn “god” which finally awakens with a fucked up schizophrenic personality.

To add up on the idiotic story, which could be way better if told in more darker and sarcastic way, there is that atmosphere that really doesn’t do anything beside making the plot a big joke and the characters unbelievable.

The anime aftermath leaves a sore taste of a 11 episodes of mindless action and the finale that is remembered as lolwut.
