Take 3 girls from Final Fantasy series, 3 girls from Dead or Alive series of games, get them to fight each other to death, using all their special and magic moves, add even more girls, a couple of guys, blood, summoning beasts, elixirs, jet li and jackie chan signature moves, interactive environment, lasting something about 30 minutes, all that made by one guy? Should I call him a god? Yes.

Selphie Tilmitt is a hottest playable character from Final Fantasy 8. There were many occasions where you wondered if she does have pantsu or is it just a glitch, as the Squaresoft (Square Enix at that time) wasn’t so liberal to just show that publicly. So, basically, it was just a big tease!
Now, more than 10 years later, the proof is finally here, she does wear pantsu, and even has a detailed texture for it – but it looks so weird… if she only had a higher poly count…
So disappointing. Introduced some nice features with the skill system and chest / lock picking . But apart from that, everything else sucks. You can grind for hours and still you would deal 2-4 of damage, and the enemies will come in infinite numbers… AND THEY ALL CAN BLOCK YOUR ATTACKS!! Rats, wolves, scorpions, even snakes and bats can block your attacks! And the things are getting worse, your character is a slave of his own battle stance animations, he can’t do anything if he doesn’t finish the previous one. That renders the combat very frustrating, boring and slow. Many of those animations look half-assed. The magic system? Fabulous, sparkling light that bathes enemies, dealing little damage and recharging just way too slow… And that useless map…

Warning, this game contains :
1000 bugs,
5 broken quests
1 titty armor.

Neverend is a French game that came out in late 2006.
Back then, I had celeron @ 1.7ghz with gf 4200ti, and my first encounter with this game was just plain awful. Loading screens all the time, random battles were too hard, even on easy I would die almost all the time. I was drawn to this game because of it’s similarity to the final fantasy franchise , and PC market just didn’t have enough of the alternatives.
Now, 4 years later, the conclusion.

Story: Short. Also, beer. Forcefully prolonged with leveling up.
Sound: mediocre, not a big playlist, and often music just bugs away for couple of hours…
Voices: somewhat better than the text being read by one polish narrator. Also buggy.
Visuals: Combination of 2D and 3D, somewhat like in FF8, only thing is that you will need like 30x more computing power… graphic bugs are rarest. No graphic options, runs at 1024×768.
Gameplay: Alt-tab, leveling up, and sometimes randomly, game crashes. By default, you have an 85% chance that you will die in the next fight, on few occasions you will even begin to attack yourself. Few quest are broken. Magic spells are totally obsolete.

Game mechanics & walktrough:
1.Random monsters level up with you.
2.Unlock the arena in first town.
3.Go and bet in the second town, earn 1500. (inn, save, reload, save)
4.At the arena, buy the hammer.
5.???
6. You won the game.

Notes: good formula for leveling is str 4, end 5, agl 2, int 3. Intelligence is only useful for the healing and the inferno spell. Everything else is a complete waste of time and money. There is only one encounter with the 3 ghosts at the end of the game; for everything else – there is the hammer.

Oh, yeah, that titty armor was the only bright thing about the game

Dreamcast Collection is a video game compilation for Xbox 360 and for download on a PC. It includes four games from the Dreamcast, Sega’s video game console originally released in 1998. These games include Sonic Adventure, Crazy Taxi, Space Channel 5 Part 2 and Sega Bass Fishing. All games released in the bundle are additionally soon to be available for purchase separately on the Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network and Steam.
This is an official release from SEGA, meaning all four games are fully ported for PC.

Minimum System Requirements:
—————————-

OS: Microsoft Windows XP

Processor: Intel Pentium 4 3.0 GHz

Memory: 2 GB RAM

Hard Disk: 6GB free space

Graphics Card: 256MB RAM, compatible with DirectX 9.0c, NVIDIA GeForce 7300 series, ATI Radeon X1600

My testing machine was running on Windows 7 x64 with Dual Core @ 3.0Ghz, 4 GB RAM and 7300GS with generic usb gamepad.

Sonic Adventure
Sonic is back! Again! There is a port of the same game back in 2003, demanding far less power as it had no need for shaders.

2003 version

2011 version

Runs smoothly, never dropping below 30fps.

Working force feedback

Annoying 4:3 AR

Generic gamepad always looses the control of the camera when Sonic is standing still, saitek gamepad works fine though.

Crazy Taxi

Runs smooth

Working force feedback

Controls are too sensitive, I ended up crashing in everything, everywhere.

Space Channel 5 Part 2

Runs smooth.

Working force feedback

Probably the best game in the pack, fantastic gameplay idea and music is great! I said idea, as I couldn’t complete a single stage. It turns out it was bugged, and SEGA is working to fix it.

Sega Bass Fishing

15fps… Damn all that shading!

Working force feedback

Not a fan of this type of games, but it looks ok.

Conclusion:

Without space channel, this release has pretty much no value. Keep your hopes up for some real unreleased gems like Skies of Arcadia, Resident evil code veronica or Shenmue.

Second worst silent hill game, it stayed in beta forever and was never fixed, but it was sold for a full price… Sad story. The only patch released fixed the alt-tabbing, and the other 14000 bugs stayed.

The bug that everyone experienced for sure was the control scheme: you bind your controls, start a new game, save, load, and the controls are back to default, some say they even randomize every time you reload.

Seriously, what the fuck ?!

I started the game with the x360ce, an emulator for the xbox 360 gamepad, but even that was randomised, i had to manually edit the configuration file thebinds_pc_mjs.cfg. The controls stayed the same, but the four numbered icons 1-2-3-4 never stayed the same, for the same action, sometimes it was 3 and sometimes was 4, and sometimes there was an playstation X icon instead of them. That screwed-up system worked somehow until the infamous Scarlet Boss fight, when you have to remove her chest with the crowbar or pipe. The trick to it was that you have to keep pressing one button, and then in the middle of the pull, you have to change to another button to finish the attack. With the gamepad, i got to see only one icon, and the full attack was never done – and thus the boss fight continued endlessly. There I switched to the keyboard & mouse, and everything went *cough* smooth *cough* until the end.

Win, win, win, win...

Cons:

controls can’t be changed ingame

gamepad random control icons

black enemies > your graphic card isn’t supported (can be fixed with fan patch)

sound issues > your CPU isn’t multicore

map doesn’t show up properly

random drops in fps

random game freezing (non fatal)

gun won’t fire every time (fixed with double click bind lol)

Scarlet Boss bug

Pros:

Akira Yamaoka composed the music

good visuals

okay story

first time the hell skies are visible

multiple endings / costumes

errrrrrrrrrr…… ummmm…… those nurses were nice?

Oh, and the worst silent hill game for the pc? Of course it’s the Silent Hill 4 The room, as it features nearly impossible gameplay, low resolution, degradation of the game engine seen in the silent hill 3, and well, The homecoming has its bugs, but it can be played with a trainer at least. The room has no replay value, the game was a silly experiment and is only used in prison torture rooms

Supplied serial doesn’t work. No serial found over the internet works. There is only a Russian patch CD/DVD Servicepack 3 / Update 42953 to 43434 (3MB) and those 3 megabytes took over an hour to complete the patching. What was that patch for? Before, there was just some broken window showing “Build 42953″ and nothing else – you have to press enter on it and they the menu would show up – and with the patch – now there is an actual warning that it can’t find bitmap logo or something….

Maybe the 2009 Skidrow release would work better?

Included in this tally are the NES original, as well as Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, New Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Galaxy, and New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

My top 5 Mario games would be:

Super Mario Land (Gameboy)

Super Mario 64 (N64)

Mario Kart 64 (N64)

Super Mario Land 3 (Gameboy)

Super Mario Bros. 3 (Nes & Snes) – played in 1989 movie The Wizard

(And no, there is no Super Mario Bros. movie, there is only some really really really awkward dinosaur documentary)
I still haven’t played Super Mario Galaxy 1&2, Paper Mario 1&2 or Super Mario Galaxy, mostly due dolphin running slow on my PC. And for the end, i wanted to record SML and post it on youtube, but i found out that http://tasvideos.org/ did a speed run in freakish 12 minutes… and i spent a whole summer break mastering 999 999 score with more than 30 lives left.
